Branson, Missouri, nestled in the Ozark mountains, is one of America's favorite vacation spots. Branson provides some of the greatest shows that you will find in the entire United States and includes over 40 theatres, three lakes, twelve championship golf courses, three theme parks, and much more all year round. The shows are second to none, and Branson boasts more theatre seats than New York's Broadway district and Las Vegas. Shows include a variety of genres in music: country, pop, rock 'n' roll, swing, classical, patriotic, and gospel.
The TRIP program provides international students an opportunity to experience a little taste of this wonderful vacation capital. Of course, shopping must fit into the itenerary somewhere, especially if it is at the Branson Mall. The Dixie Stampede is also a priority for all who visit Branson. This amazing dinner show will give you a chance to learn more about the conflict between the north and the south as you watch some friendly rivalry and horsemanship and enjoy a wonderful full-course meal. (Keep your eyes open for the ostrich race, too!) You will also go back in time as you go to Silver Dollar City and see and experience the way of life in the Ozarks during the turn of the century. Silver Dollar City showcased traditions, costumes, food, music, crafts, and rides. To finish the evening, you will enjoy a wonderful dinner and show on the Branson Bell showboat. Sit back and relax on the boat as youe eat a wonderful three-course meal and watch entertainment at the same time. This boat is the largest land-locked boat in the United States, and it contains a dinner theatre that seats 700 people. Sunday will be a day designated to attend your host family's church and meet new friends. You will enjoy a nice lunch with the church after the morning service.
