ECI uses a battery of tests for initial placement of a new student. The battery consists of the Interchange/Passages Objective test (Listening, Grammar, and Reading Comprehension), Placement Essay, and Conversation. ECI also administers the Michigan Placement Test as a diagnostic test across proficiency levels. The test is administered every other session and serves to confirm the placement level and gauge the achieved students' progression
